Notify patients of normal lab results as directed by provider, document in chart. 24. Insure that items needing the providers initials are "red stamped." Pull the chart and place items on chart. Check providers charts daily to ensure items are being signed and placed in charts in a timely manner.25. All forms for the patients being sent to lab or x-ray should be labeled accurately. Make sure lab and x-ray forms are filled out correctly with proper diagnosis and that the x-ray referral is complete before the patient leaves the department. Obtain samples for lab in proper tubes according to patient's insurance.
